Born in Sheffield, we provide a trusted and reliable service to Every. Single. Client. We pride ourselves on our knowledge and experience which enables us to deliver a first class service on site and to our customers.

Vars Electrical Contractors Ltd was established in December 2019. Since then we have
established a strong record for delivering and managing compliance within our clients’ commercial,
retail and healthcare premises. This includes but has not been limited to EICRs, Emergency lighting
testing (3 hour discharge test and monthly function tests), bi-annual RCD testing, Thermal imaging,
PAT testing and Fire Alarm testing. We have continuously supported our clients with looking after
their national portfolios, some of which span upwards of 700 sites with multiple planned visits per
annum across the UK and Ireland.

Vars currently operates on a national basis for a number of clients utilising our strategically placed engineers throughout the UK. Our engineers are placed from the North East down to the South Coast and various areas in between enabling us to offer constant cover for planned and reactive works through all regions. For the past 5 years our clients have consisted of some of the largest retailers in the UK with a combined property portfolio of over 1000 sites demonstrating our capability to cover multiple sites in both major cities and more rural areas of the country. 

Over the years we have crafted our specialism supported by confidence in our teams’ ability to deliver consistent high standards and quality of work. Our focus is on our clients compliance and site needs ensuring they are always met with engineers who have the right expertise and experience to not only complete the required works to an exceptional standard, but also reassure the staff and complete all tasks as efficiently and with minimal disruption.
Our extensive experience in the retail sector allows us to design and deliver tailored programmes around the every day challenges of busy stores. A large part of this tailored approach is the utilisation of our in house built job management system. Over the years we have developed and adapted elements of this to meet the individual needs of specific clients allowing us to provide clear, concise and real time reporting on all works. This gives our entire team a solid base to provide a structured value driven pricing schedule with fixed and clear rates.
As a locally run company we maintain the attention to detail which the larger organisations can lack. Our clients’ needs remain at the core of all of our work and by reducing the burden of compliance management we have forged long lasting relationships built on trust, adaptability and consistently delivered solutions throughout the UK and ROI.

All of our engineers are fully qualified holding a minimum of NVQ Level 3 and BS7671 18th Edition with 2 years site experience in the relevant field of work they carry out. In line with our accreditations our team also complete a minimum number of hours per year of CPD to expand their knowledge and ensure they are up to date with any changes to regulation, alterations to best practice and new emerging technology within the industry. Beyond the core qualifications our team undergoes regular refresher training for health and safety and trade cards are kept up to date via our in house management system.

Our thorough internal vetting process guarantees that only engineers with the relevant and in date certification are on site carrying out work with the Vars name attached to it.
